The Summer Institute of Advanced Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at Tel Aviv University School of Public Health was established in 2012 in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The Summer Institute offers short, intensive courses in epidemiology and preventive medicine, which can be taken for professional development, to enhance current skills, or for academic credit.
The program includes fuve one-week courses worth two credits/ four ECTS each. Potential applicants include: public health professionals, qualified undergraduate and graduate students, medical students, physicians, nurses and individuals interested in epidemiology, health research, or any other offered topic of study provided they meet course pre-requisite requirements.
The Summer Institute courses are taught in English by world-renowned faculty from Johns Hopkins University, Tel Aviv University, Northwestern University, Harvard University, University of Maryland, World Health Organization, United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other academic and research institutions. The Summer Institute is co-directed by Professors Daniel Cohen, Tamy Shohat, and Jonathan Zenilman.
