The CORDS Networks Zika resource platform, launched today, presents network generated research and reflections on Zika virus, surveillance methods, data collection and the practical action being taken to detect and report any new changes in Zika virus as early as possible. Initial articles include a background piece on Zika from Dr Julius Lutwama, of the East African Network EAIDSNet and and an article on Detection of Zika Virus Infection in Thailand, 2012–2014 submitted by Akarasewi Paskorn from the Mekong Basin Network, MBDS.

This document is an interagency collaboration lead by UNICEF and in close partnership with WHO and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Its purpose is to, under the WHO Strategic Response Framework, provide a tool for the use of country teams of the key collaborators and other response stakeholders including INGOs, NGOs and CSOs risk communication and community engagement interventions.
