CORDS at PMAC 2015
CORDS was pleased to participate in the 2015 Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC), held in Bangkok Thailand, from 26-31 Janary 2015. Professor Nigel Lightfoot CBE, Executive Director of CORDS, was invited to sit on the Health and Security Panel during the annual conference that attracts institutions, policy makers and public health experts from across the globe. Nigel Lightfoot urged stakeholders to work collaboratively across disciplines, stressing that the emergent threat of bioterrorism necessitates a multisectoral approach. The conference, entitled ‘Post 2105 Global Health: Accelerating Equity’, provides a platform for participants to review MDG achievements, and identify challenges going forward, post 2015. The conference is hosted by the Prince Mahidol Awards Foundation, the Thai Ministry of Public Health, Mahidol University, CORDS funders The Rockefeller Foundation and Skoll Global Threat Fund, affiliates WHO and other global partners. In attendance at PMAC are two CORDS’ networks, MBDS and APEIR. PMAC has been an effective platform to promote the work of CORDS and identify future partners interested in CORDS mission.
