CORDS gears up to respond to Yellow Fever Outbreak

The East African and South African CORDS Networks are gearing up to address a Yellow Fever outbreak in their region.

Yellow fever is a disease with an effective vaccine but despite this it has killed hundreds of people in Angola who had not been immunised against it. More than 3,000 suspected cases are in Angola and 1,000 in neighbouring Congo. There are growing concerns that Chinese workers – of whom there are thousands in Angola – will carry the virus to Asia.
